Here is the weather forecast for the next two days
Saturday (July 9)
- Heavy to very heavy rains with extremely heavy falls in isolated places are very likely on the coast of Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa and Telangana.
- Heavy to very heavy rains are expected over isolated parts of Uttarakhand, eastern Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and inner southern Karnataka.
- Heavy showers are forecast in isolated locations in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, India. Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, North Inner Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.
- Stray thunders are expected in Meghalaya, Himalayas, Western Himalayas and at the foot of these, Madhya Pradesh and Eastern Maharashtra.
- In the morning, dense fog is possible in the Trans Himalayas.
Sunday (July 10)
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls is possible in isolated parts of Konkan and Goa.
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast at a few places on the Karnataka coast and at isolated locations over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, Madhya Maharashtra, Andhra Coast. Pradesh, Yanam and Telangana.
- Heavy rains are forecast in isolated locations in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, western Uttar Pradesh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Inner Karnataka, Kerala and Mahé.
- Stray thunders are expected in the Himalayas, the Western Himalayan region and at the foothills of them, as well as Madhya Pradesh.
- Heavy rains are likely in southeast Gujarat, southeast Madhya Pradesh, northeast Maharashtra and northern Telangana.
- In the morning, dense fog is possible in the Trans Himalayas.

A cyclonic circulation is extending over southwestern Rajasthan and adjoining areas and the monsoon trough is active and south of its normal position. Another offshore trough at mean sea level extends from the south Gujarat coast to the Karnataka coast while a cyclonic circulation lies to the northwest and adjoins the central western Bay of Bengal offshore from the southern coasts of Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh. Under the collective influence of these systems, the following weather activity is expected:
Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning with isolated heavy rains are very likely over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Gujarat State, Kerala, Mahé, coastal India. ‘Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana and Karnataka over the next five days.
Isolated very heavy rains are possible over the Gujarat region, Vidarbha on July 9 and 10; Saurashtra and Kutch from July 9 to 11; Madhya Maharashtra and Telangana on July 10; Coastal Karnataka July 10-12; Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and South Interior Karnataka on July 9.
Light to very heavy scattered showers with isolated extremely heavy rains are also likely over the Karnataka coast on July 9, and isolated extremely heavy rains are likely over Konkan and Goa over the next five days; Telangana on July 9; Gujarat region July 11-12; Saurashtra and Kutch on July 12-13, and in ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on July 9 and July 11-13.
During this time, overnight temperatures will be extreme or much higher than normal over much of the Trans-Himalayan region and the Western Himalayas at least until the end of July.
