Pre-order Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
When is Star Wars Jedi Survivor released?
We start with the most obvious. Star Wars Jedi Survivor will land on PC, PS5 and Xbox series on April 28, 2023. That’s 6 weeks later than the original release date set for March 17… In a press release issued at the time, Respawn – the studio in charge of development – explained that it needed this time to reach “quality standards”. Regardless, the title isn’t planned on older-generation consoles. Project director Stig Asmussen says the PS5 and Xbox series enable larger maps with more details. There will also be ray tracing.
Where does Jedi Survivor fit into the Star Wars timeline?
Revenge of the Sith (the third film in the prologue) takes place five years after the events of Jedi Survivor Fallen Order, as well as the previous episode… in other words, Purification of the famous knights is still in progress | The Empire will stop at nothing to achieve its ends. For anecdotes, this is the same period as the Disney+ Obi-Wan series. For the moment, nothing indicates that we will see the hero played by Ewan McGregor. Either way, in the words of Stig Asmussen (Game Informer), Jedi Survivor is “darker, more challenging” than Fallen Order. Everything remains a demanding action title – where dodging and parrying play a very important role.
What is the story of Star Wars Jedi Survivor?
As explained above, Jedi Survivor takes place five years after Fallen Order, and in doing so, Cal Kestis has become a full-fledged Jedi! Our heroes still roam the galaxy alongside Cere, Griz, Marines and the droid BD-1… but The Empire, which has vowed to exterminate all Knights, hunts the group down relentlessly. The Imperial forces will specifically call on Revis, a Zen’dai who wants to make the famous order disappear. According to Stig Asmussen, everything here will be “a question of survival”. In the trailer below, the characters search for a safe place to escape the Empire

Explore, fight, what’s new?
After the release of various previews – including ours – it’s clear that Jedi Survivor will be different from the Fall Order… It will already be much more open than its predecessor, with planets that look like small open worlds. Will grinds to get around easily; side search; Hidden Trials (“Jedi Chambers”) that resemble the Sanctuary in Zelda Breath of the Wild! Cal Kestis will also be able to use the grappling hook and dash – to reach certain angles. Respawn talks about “more flexible” exploration and a “comprehensive Metroidvania approach.”
In terms of combat, there’s something new… Cal now has 5 locations at his disposal: Single Saber, Double Blade, Double Saber (Two Sabers), Kylo Ren Style Saber, Blaster. All of this will be accompanied by new Force powers, such as Stasis, which allows you to freeze time for a few moments to move around between blaster shots (for example)! Companions will play an even more important role in the action and exploration stages, being able to intervene when necessary. Finally, Survivor offers more extensive customization elements than in the past.
Which planets will we be able to explore?
Before going, a question that all Star Wars game fans ask themselves: what about planets? Beyond the places we’ve already seen, such as Kashiyik – the kingdom of Ukir -, Jedi Survivor will take us first to Kobo, with its natural “canyon” landscape, and especially to Coruscant, the famous capital of the Republic, then the Empire. A Tweet Revealed on April 9, Electronic Arts notes that it won’t be an “open area” but rather “one of the game’s destinations”! For the rest, The publisher and studio Respawn talk about seeing “many worlds.”. At the center of it all, there’s even a central hub that players can explore, improve, customize. In short, that’s what it takes.
