IND vs WI 2022: Rohit Sharma sweats in net ahead of 1st T20I

After beating West Indies West Indies in a three-game ODI series, Team India will now focus on T20I cricket. India will face West Indies in the first T20I of the five-game series on Friday at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.

Captain Rohit Sharma is ready to return to the squad after resting for the ODIs.

Before the opening T20I, Rohit was spotted batting in the net.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also shared a short clip from their training session. Rohit, in the video, can be seen playing some exquisite shots.

He also came out and played some big shots.

“Turn on the sound. Indian team captain Rohit Sharma warming up in the net ahead of the first West Indies vs India T20I,” the caption read.

The tweet created a buzz on social media as Indian cricket fans began posting their thoughts as they eagerly awaited Rohit’s return to the playing XI.

While another Indian cricket fan wanted Rohit to lead against West Indies and play big shots. “It’s time for Rohit to step up to the plate and show his true worth to Team India. We need his runs on the board,” the caption read.

“Wow man so good. Who said he was out of shape? In the middle of all the beating,” another Twitter user wrote.

Another Indian cricketer fan had high expectations as he asked Rohit to score three half centuries in the five game series against Wet Indies.

“Looking in sublime touch. This sound oh my god! Five T20Is, at least three scores over fifty required from Captain,” read the caption to the post.

This fan felt that Rohit Sharma looked better and wrote, “He looks calmer. With all those games under his belt after Covid-19 and a short break now, that should put him in a good space.

Rohit will also be determined to produce a better performance against West Indies after an average series against England. The 35-year-old had six clean ball appearances against England but could only manage half a century on the tour.

Apart from Rohit, other big names like Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant are also expected to be back in the XI.
